Housing

I strongly support robust federal support for expansion of affordable and quality housing. Housing is an issue that is top of mind for people who live across coastal and Southwest Oregon. In our coastal communities, short-stay rentals make housing problems even worse. The inflated cost of housing across Oregon’s Fourth District, along with a vacancy rate well below the national average, is hurting working families and makes it more difficult for employers to recruit workers.

I support expanding affordable and workforce housing. I support tax policies that create more opportunities for first-time home ownership, and I oppose tax policies that subsidize the already-wealthy, including hedge funds that buy up property and contribute to inflated real estate prices.
