Congresswoman Hoyle Statement on Supporting the Continuing Resolution to Keep the Federal Government Open
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Val Hoyle (OR-04) shared the following statement following her vote in support of a Continuing Resolution to keep the federal government open through January and February 2024:
“I voted in support of this Continuing Resolution (CR), which temporarily extends federal government funding to protect vital programs and benefits that Oregonians rely on, without making any funding cuts.
“But let me be clear: this CR is not a perfect or permanent solution, and it’s a result of the ongoing chaos and dysfunction of the House Republican majority. Instead of passing temporary funding, like this CR does, we should be working in a bipartisan fashion to fund the government for a full fiscal year. House Republicans must put partisan games aside and work across the aisle to deliver certainty for the American people and our allies abroad.”
