HOYLE VOTES AGAINST HARMFUL GOP ATTACK ON VICTIMS’ RIGHTS
WASHINGTON, DC— Today, U.S. Representative Val Hoyle (OR-04) voted against H.J.Res.165, the House GOP measure that aims to dismantle the Biden Administration’s fix to Title IXwhich improved protections for victims of sexual harassment and assault. After the vote, Rep. Hoyle released the following statement:
“It’s shameful that House Republicans are trying to reinstate harmful Trump-backed efforts to undermine Title IX and the #MeToo movement. Our high schools and colleges should have the tools to protect victims and prevent harassment and assaults, not have them taken away. Female and LGBTQ+ students in my district and across the country deserve better.”
